An “Unforgettable” Show
An Evening of Nat “King” Cole and more…
The style of music known as The Great American Songbook was built over a five-decade period, starting in the 1920s. Lyrically erudite, melodically sophisticated and harmony rich, the songs reflect upon love with uncommon poetic economy.
And no one sings The Great American Songbook like Eddie Wakes.
Concert presenters have the option of booking Eddie with his Jazz quartet, or with his written arrangements for strings, woodwinds, etc. on symphonic dates, or alone with tracks of his pre-recorded string and horn stems, featuring members of the LA Philharmonic.
Eddie was featured in the documentary, “Nat King Cole: Afraid Of The Dark” (2014) along with Tony Bennett, Natalie Cole and others. Director Jon Brewer said “Eddie’s knowledge of The Great American Songbook” is as profoundly informed as the creators of this singular music.”
